[In the words of Dan Morgan]
Before the car went into for a respray, minor bits of rust were cleaned up and sealed with waxoil and black sealant.

After fitting the 35mm APEX Lowering Spring and Testing the AMG body kit, the car was pretty much ready for paint. The paint that I had in mind was ‘040 Gloss Black’ aka the ‘Hammer’ colour. I had also had fitted a full stainless steel exhaust system courtesy of Pro Speed Exhausts in Cardiff, which gives the car a tasteful exhaust noise under acceleration. Below are picture before the car went into be painted:

Whilst the car was in the paint shop, I treated myself to a personalized number plate and purchased a rare W124 MOMO AMG steering wheel that was in need of some TLC. As you can see below, the steering wheel was mushroom grey and has been heavily used. Instead of going the standard black colour, I decided to go an Alcantara Black as I havent seen this done before. The company that customized the steering wheel were Royal Steering Wheels who I’d highly recommend.

Very happy with the outcome of the paint job in 040 gloss black, which makes the car look very ‘mafia’ like. I added amber lights to split the front up, which in my opinion makes it look much better.

Futre plans are to source a set of W140 Split Rim Alloys and paint the centres black but other than that, it is just to keep maintaining the car over the years to come.
